Hello to my Townhall friends!
Some of you may remember me from years ago when I used to hold forth with some of you at the old Townhall Chat rooms. We would talk for hours and had 'more fun than a human being should be allowed to have.'
Well I was not able to maintain my participation after the attacks on September 11, 2001, and susequent events. The company I worked for laid me off (along with many others), after taking the severance package down and replacing it with next to nothing.
After a year and a half, not able to find work in southern California that would make the house payment, Dolores and I had to sell the house. We took the equity and bought a 23' trailer, in which we still live, and moved to southwest Florida (Ft. Myers) back in 2003.
In part I wanted to be near my Dad, and I knew this was a boom area where I had a better chance of finding work. Both ideas worked out for us.
I got the last few months of my Dad's life to get to know him better. I found work (I was laid off again two months ago). I have found a great little church (Park Alliance Church, in San Carlos Park), where I have recently been named Choir Director. Right now, we are doing well enough, and grateful to God for His providence.
I am going to try to maintain my blogs here. The first one (
RAStauch.townhall.com) will focus on Life issues. This one will be devoted to Media and Culture, Elections and other types of issues.
Besides that, I plan to take some of my former Web site's texts and reproduce them here. I think some of them are still timely, considering that we have learned little about the terrorists who want us dead, and the Liberals in this country who don't want you to worry about that.
Thanks to God for a free country, where we can speak our minds and express our principles. Thanks to Townhall, where we can put those thoughts up for your review. Please, take a moment to post a comment. I greatly appreciate your time and careful thoughts.
